| | | | Each ring symbolically captures the uniqueness of Colorado State University. The top of the traditional style ring and the signet ring, fashioned as an oval, reminds graduates of the historical elm-lined oval at the heart of the Colorado State University campus. For the traditional style ring students may chose either a metal top or a simulated emerald top encrusted with “CSU.” One side of the traditional style ring features the Colorado State University seal. The elements of the seal include the University name and founding year and the components of its land-grant mission: education, service, extension, and research.
|
| The other side of the traditional ring is a collage of the symbols most meaningful to Aggies and Rams. The Aggie “A” and the Ram echo both old and new. In 1946 the Aggies adopted a Rocky Mountain bighorn ram as the official mascot. When the school became Colorado State University in 1957, our nickname officially changed from Aggies to Rams. The Rocky Mountain vista that we admire daily from the campus in Fort Collins is represented in the background.
